Main Stats vs. Stats in Tainted Grail Fall of Avalon

Main Stats refer to the attributes that are independent from increase/decrease of other Stats & Attributes, while the Derived Stats are dependent on the changes of Main Attributes, Skill Trees, or a combination of both. Main Attributes also affect other stat qualities that will determine your character's efficiency, with unique properties and benefits to Combat, Resource Management, Exploration, Crafting, and NPC Interactions. On the other hand, Derived Attributes are adjusted based on the combination of your Main Attributes and various passive effects from Skills or wearing Equipment.

For example, Strength directly affects Melee Damage, Max Stamina, and Armor Weight Multiplier. Upgrading this attribute will provide 3 Attribute boosts, whereas, if you were to increase your Melee Damage, Max Stamina, or Armor Weight Multiplier by any means, it will not increase or affect Strength in anyway.

Tainted Grail Fall of Avalon Stats & Attributes Mechanic

From the Character Screen, you will notice the Base Stats on the left side, while there's plentiful of Stats & Attributes on the right side. The Base Stats refer to Strength, Endurance, Dexterity, Spirituality, Practicality, and Perception. Whenever you upgrade one of these base stats, you will see changes to at least 3 of the other stats on the right side. Base Stats are upgraded using Stat points that you acquire from leveling up.

Your character will gain experience points by doing various actions such as eliminating enemies, defeating bosses, or completing quests. Once you have collected enough experience points, you can quickly craft a bonfire then sit to access the Stat distribution screen. This makes it easier to customize your character and help players with build and theory-crafting in Tainted Grail Fall of Avalon.
